Tone suckage of Nova delay?
Guys..
Did you notice any tone sucakge of Nova delay? Actually, I am goin to get a nova delay to replay my dd20. However, I once tired and owned TC G Major and Nova system..and both units were affecting my dry signal significantly. Does it happen on Nova delay?? I have used one now for about a year and have not noticed any tone suckage. I'm quite happy with it.

I had a nova delay for a period of time as well. Theres no real tone suckage but there is a cut in the bass when switched on.

I wouldn't call it suckage but it definitely altered my signal. Sounded like a very slight modulation/chorus was on it. I had no problem going back to my DD-20 and haven't even thought about trying another Nova anything.

zero tone suckage very slight bass reduction when on (a touch brighter) but I think that actually improves the dry tone. Much better delay pedal than the DD-20 IMHO

I think we need to distinguish between "tone suck" (which I tend to think of as worsening of the tone when the pedal is OFF!) and tone suck of the dry signal (which in this case would be when the unit is on...forgetting the delayed signals, but is the original signal changed a lot?.
Tone "suck" also to me implies losing highs. Someone here mentioned it loses lows when ON, but...that's what a lot of delays that don't just pass the dry signal do right?

I have found that properly calibrating the pedal has an effect on how your dry signal sounds. Also, because the unit is not true bypass, there is zero difference in your base tone when the effect is on vs. off. So whatever alteration is happening to your sound, no one will ever know but you!

I thought the dd-20 had major tone suckage, my nova sounded much better-but it had its own issues. I'm happier with some carbon copy no frills good tone.

I buffer before my signal hits the DD-20 so I haven't noticed any issues, and I can be pretty anal about things.

I thought there were some internal adjustments for dealing with this. Did you guys do the setup on it?

Nova seems to be really rig dependent, I've got a bypass box on my board that bypasses my whole fx chain, and I vastly prefer my sound WITH the Nova's buffer; it's a lot livelier that way ("blanket lifted off my amp!!!")
I'm running mine in front of my amp, no experience with fx loop usage. On the other hand, I sure can't figure out why anyone would use the Nova without calibrating it first? I've read several threads where someone had problems with their unit, just to have the problems go away upon calibration... It's not like it's hard or takes especially long. Reading the manual also seems to be something a lot of guys aren't doing...
