1st Jethro Tull album - P90 heaven!
Mick Abrahams played an SG Special w P90 through a Marshall or a Sound City, I think.
Listen to "Beggars Farm" or "Cats Squirrel". Thats tone heaven to me! Sweet, clangy and raunchy P90 tone ! |

I believe Martin Barre also used a single cut LP Jr for Aqualung. Great tone.

Yeah, and he used a DC Les Paul Special for "Stand Up".

It appeared on "Thick as a brick" I believe. He still has that Burst.

Cat's Squirrell -- great tone! But it's that beautiful reverb that knocks me out. Anyone know how he did that?

Mick made that album
how about his acoustic playing and singing on "Dear Jill" with the Pig still gives me chills |

I thought Mick played a SG Standard (humbuckers) back then..? At least he did with Blodwyn Pig shortly afterward. Amp wise, I read an interview w him where he said it was a 50 watt marshall thru an 8 x 10 cab. The reverb sounds like a studio unit, the way it fades in and out on cat's squirrel.
That's a desert island/ satellite capsule blues rock cut !
