Ultimate analog chorus with true bypass?
Ok, my small bare-bones-more-is-less studioboard is finally complete. I started back at zero and chose everything from the ground up. All analog, all true bypass, all really good pedals (IMHO). For studio use, so Tone first! The amp is a Carr Mercury
I have Overdrive and Boost in the Fulldrive 2 10th anniv PtP Cream board edition> Dual analog delay from the Diamond Memory Lane 2 (both at 18v for extra headroom and clarity). Tuner: the Peterson Strobostomp. Powered by a Flatliner Six high quality power supply. 9 foot Sommer Spirit XXL cables running from guitar to board and from board to amp with George L Patch cables between the pedals. All on a Pedaltrain Jr. NOW I NEED THE ULTIMATE ANALOG CHORUS WITH TRUE BYPASS to complete the setup. What are your suggestions. Also, what order would you put them in?

Analogman Bichorus is the best I've owned - two different sounds on tap, true bypass and plays well with everything I've thrown at it. They are a bit pricey though. You could also go with the Analogman minichorus if pedalboard real estate is a problem.

Hows the MXR stereo chorus? The Store who's putting together the pedal board for me suggested that one

There is only ONE analog chorus pedal for me....and that's the BMF Effects Liquid Sky.

Dude, wait a bit, get one of the new Fulltones CFV-2 and never look back. I have the CF-1 and it sounds absolutely majestic

I'm fond of the retro-sonic chorus.

Visual Sound H2O/Liquid Chorus (Yes it has a buffer, but perhaps one of the best buffers out there...)
Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus

I have tried most of the pedals and owned a few of the ones in this thread. Last week I found a killer sounding Chours pedal at Guitar Center. While not high end, non the less, it's sounds great and is only $49. The Delta Labs SC-1 Stereo Chorus, it's analog and true bypass.

I agree 100%. I have an original CE1 which I love but it's not the chorus that's on my board. The Bi-Chorus sounds incredible and I'd put it up against any other chorus made today.

Fulltone cf1 is the best i've had. buffered or true bypass, all analog, and extremely lush. Lots of options for an analog pedal. Beautiful! Sounds good with distortion too. And needless to say, it is built to last.

Is the Analogman Bi-Chorus and the regular Analogman chorus exactly the same except for the extra set of knobs to give you a second preset ?
Also, along those lines, Radial Bones is coming out with their Vienna Chorus in a few weeks. Looks like they ...ummmm...got inspired from the Bi-Chorus as it is also analog and with 2 sets of knobs. It should be priced around $150 or so. I'll listen to both before making up my mind. |

There are a lot of gooduns out there but for studio stuff I'd go A-man. Its a nice middle of the road unit that isn't too wacky sounding. In other words it won't draw attention to itself in a mix. Unless you want it to.
