Nicest guitar(s) you've ever played?

The two best guitars I've ever played were both owned by one of my high school friend's dad-

The first was I think a one off Gibson custom shop CS-336. Apparently the person who ordered it could never complete payment. It had a wicked flamed top, played unbelievably well, and sounded amazing. The reason I bought an ES-339 was to get somewhere close to that feel...isn't quite there, but I still love it.

The second that I didn't actually get to play plugged in was a 1964 Strat that looked like it was in pretty much original condition. I'm not a big fan of the vintage nut width and small frets, but the guitar just sounded amazing.

Nik Huber all mahogany chambered with two P-90's. Not even sure what the model was but it was heavenly. I was on a big Gibby kick at the time so I didn't buy it. Man I wish I could get that moment back!

'86 PRS Custom... back in the day when no one knew what they were

'00 PRS HB I, mine, I loves it!

'91 PRS Cu 24, ditto

'04 PRS Mc, double ditto

Some Martin in GC B'ham, Al, don't know the model, dreadnought, lots of MOP, the tone was exponentially above any other acoustic I've ever played

Oh, I forgot about this one, and it will come as a bit of a surprise... in '89 I worked for a SLM dealer, in their custom shop they built 2 Westone Corsairs for one of the guys in the shop... the face of the bodies and headstocks were covered in real python skin! The guitars had Dan Armstrong Rock Monster pups... the lesser of the two guitars was damn good, the better of the two was amazing... he played it through a Metaltronix preamp and power amp and a couple old Marshall cabs... best guitar tone I have heard live anywhere

There's a martin acoustic my friend has at his place. He's had it for years. It was his dads and would likely be from the 70s.
I have no bones about admitting to my friend that he's a secondary concern when I come to visit. I bring a new set of strings sometimes when I go so I can put a fresh set on and enjoy it that much more.

I played a Collings I35 in NY in '07 that was pretty wonderful. And I once played a Santa Cruz 12 fret acoustic with a small body that surprised me - it was beautiful, definitely the best acoustic I have played.

But I haven't really played anything better than my '99-ish Guild Starfire III or '05 Gretsch 6120 SSU. They work perfectly for me and that's why I own them!

The most valuable was a 1957 Les Paul gold top. I didn't have the opportunity to plug it in and it was still amazing.

There were finish cracks all over the top and every one was green. It was easily the lightest LP I've ever picked up and it was effortless to play and resonated like mad. It was all original, untouched solder joints, etc.

In a way I wish I hadn't picked it up. Every LP from now on will be a disappointment.

In 1972 I played red sunburst early Les Paul that was double cutaway with two humbuckers. It was quite cool, and it wasn't for sale.
