Best Wah pedal for that Jimi Hendrix feel

In the past I've always used a modded/true bypass Vox V847.

It's been a while since I've owned a wah and I was wondering what your suggestions would be as to a good 'Jimi' Sounding Wah with true bypass (which I can do myself to certain wahs).

Thanks

you could go for the Jimi Hendrix Wah by Dunlop. that is, if you can mod the dunlop pedals to TB.

Or you can buy the Classic Crybaby and spend 2 bucks on parts to mod it to signature Hendrix wah and another 6 bucks to make it true bypass.

RMC Pic wah or an Area 51. Fulltone Clyde wahs are pretty good too.

The Hendrix sig wah is not a very Hendrixy wah. It seems they droped the ball on that one.

I'm looking for something more in the $90-150 range. If I have to I'll spend the extra bucks. But could I get a nice hendrixy sound out of a modded Vox?

That'd be my suggestion...Get a used Vox 847 and mod it with TB and whatever else and you should be set.

Find a Italian Vox V846 with the trash can inductor and grey Procond caps. I've had the Fulltones, Teese, Pro Analog Supa Quack, vintage Clydes and Crybabies. All are great just different flavors but for feel and vocal sweep a stock 846 is what you want. Jimi used V846's ALOT especially live.

Try a regular Crybaby, if you like it covert it to true bypass.
Mine nails that Redhouse live sound.

I too used an 847 for years, and like others have mentioned you can further mod yours, or have it modded and it will serve you well. Recently though I tried out and purchased a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe and I love it for Hendrix, and SRV type stuff as well as other types too. The Clyde is a very well thought out and engineered wah and I think if Hendrix were still alive and gigging he too would use the Clyde deluxe.

Get an RMC Teese Picture Wah. It has true bypass and has fuzz friendly technology all for only $199. You cant beat it. YOu may spend less now, but you will end up buying again when your cheap pedal dies and your RMC would still be going strong.

Spend the extra bucks and get a real Vox its worth it! You can find a used 846 or Italian Vox Crybaby with the same circuit as the 846 for $150-200 on ebay. Usually they come with the famous ICAR pot. If you dont mind scoping ebay usually you can score one for a pretty good deal.
