Recommendations for POWER SUPPLY (For my board's setup)
Hi all.
Currently I'm using a socket extension to power my pedals. Drive Pedals to a 8-way daisy 1SPOT. TC Electronic Nova Modulator on its own power supply. T-Rex Reptile Delay on its own adapter as well (Got it separate from the pedal). Thing is... This thing looks extremely fugly on board. ![]() I am thinking of getting a proper power supply unit. Isolated with regulated outputs. Pedals I have are... Planet Wave Tuner (May be changing to Boss TU-12) Ibanez TS808 (reverse pol. version) Crybaby Original GCB-95 (9v version) Boss FV500H (Doesn't need any power supply) Barber Dirty Bomb Barber Barb EQ TC Elec. Nova Modulator T-Rex Reptile Delay Pedals to come: A fuzz, prolly skreddy skrewdriver A reverb pedal (9v but maybe drawing 200+ mA? Looking at Holy Grail Plus for now) That's that for now. Any recommendations for power supply units for my set-up? Thanks in advance! Rgds, Conflict

Furman SPB-8C, or the older SPB-8.
Thank me later.

Check out my last thread!!
Conflict... I'm going thru the same thing. Some like the One-Spot as a cheaper alternative and if they hold up well, great for the $$$. A couple have also mentioned the Burkey Flatliner which is much pricier but appears to be really nice. For myself, it was between the PP2 and the Dunlop DC Brick. I went with the Brick due to the 3 18V supplies which I know that I will be using atleast 2 of those (Older Dano CoolCat chorus and I run my OCD at 18V). Only thing I had against the PP2 was jumping 2 9V's together to get 18.
If I had no pedals running 18V I would have went with the PP2. The Brick is also about $60 cheaper. Just ordered the Brick and it should be here by Thursday. I'll let you know how it works out. Good luck.

But DC Brick isn't built with isolated regulated power?
But the PP2+ is?

I bought a BBE Supa-Charger online for a $100 delivered.
http://www.thetwistergroup.com/store/customer/home.php No reviews of that unit were bad, and most compared it to the PP2+ |

I have a Brick and just got a PP2+. I was happy with the Brick - until I hooked up the PP2+. It made every pedal sound better! A subtle difference usually, but noticeable. I've moved the Brick to my second board (all of my mod and delay pedals).
A bummer about the PP2+ is that it only works for one voltage. The Brick works anywhere, and it is also much less expensive. Best...H |

I found that they both have their pros and cons.
If you are very serious about having an "isolated regulated" supply and only need one voltage (9V) and dont mind the extra $$$, then I say go with the PP2. If you need more than one voltage and are looking to save a little dough, go with the Brick. In my opinion they are both good supplies, just depends on your needs and economic situation.
IMHO... I dont believe there will be a noticeable difference in your "tone" between the 2 supplies. There may be but I'm probably not keen enough to notice it. I'd be nitpicking to tell a difference between 2 supplies from 2 top manufacturers as these. There are probably many more factors to be worried about concerning your tone. Good luck.

I've never used the PP2 and I'm sure it a great unit but I bought a BBE Supa-Charger and I have been completely satified with it. I run my OCD at 18v so I just used a Y cable. Also if you have a PedalTrain board it fits perfectly under it because it is the same size as the PP2. Check out the link shown earlier in the thread for a great price for one
