Exclamation Orange amps, are they under rated ?

I just got an Orange Rocker 30 and am amazed with how good this thing sounds !!

Other amps I've owned:

Hiwatt DR103
Marshall 1959 Superlead, 2061X, JCM800, JCM 2000 DSL
Dr. Z Prescription, Maz, Rt.66
Fender Deluxe reverb, twin reverb, Princeton, Bassman
Mesa, 2 ch. Dual Rec, MkIII, Mk IV, LoneStar special, Blue Angel, Subway Rocket, Heartbreaker
Soldano SLO.
Orange AD30

This Orange has just Rippin tone much like a good Hiwatt.... it lets you hear the guitar, the wood, the pickups, the strings you are playing! It's very transparent!

I am running EH 6Ca7 tubes I am thinking this amp may be under rated!

The Tiny Terror is the only Orange I've had experience with, and yes, I think they are under-rated. There wasn't as much clean head room with the TT as I would have liked, but man...this thing smoked. Like snarling dogs coming out of the amp.

I liked the Rocker 30 better than the RV50 and RV100.
But,
I liked the AD series better than those.

I don't think they are under-rated at all.

Lately I have been playing my Hayseed and Bandmaster is stereo non-stop. I just plugged in to the Orange AD30 today after about 2 weeks and I have to say I won't be changing my name anytime soon. These things are great. Everything I want in a Rock amp. Enough gain for rock and punchy as hell.

I played with a guy the other night that used a Rocker 30 w/an OCD and it sounded fantastic! Really thick and ballsy. I was impressed.

My Rockerverb 50 is the most versatile amp on the planet! I searched for 15 years and went though every model of amp you can imagine, some were very expensive boutique amps, but the day I first played the RV50 I almost broke out in tears. It's rare to find an amp with both a Killer OD/distortion sound and gorgeous clean sound, usually you get one or the other. Adrian Emsley (the designer for Orange) is a great player in his own right and he designs amps that a gigging musician could use on a daily basis. Underrated? Hell yes!

+1, I couldn't relate my own experience any better.

That's good to know. I wonder how the RV50 differs from the 30? What power tubes does it have?

In fact, it's kind of odd that the Rocker 30 is sporting 2 EL34 tubes, yet is only rated at 30 watts! It's a LOUD amp for only 30 watts.

I had an AD30 a few years back and usually played a P90 SG with that amp. I would get compliments from time to time from various people in the crowd (probably other musicians) on how good the tone was.

FYI, the RV50 is 4x6v6. I've owned a LOT of boutique amps, and this is the only two-channel amp I've ever owned where I LOVE both channels.
