Bogner Shiva - 6L6 v EL34

Which is better? Tone wise how do they differ?

Can it be rebiased to handle either?

Not sure about the re-biasing question...but I like both of these power sections.
I'm usually a 6L6 guy, but I own an EL34 Shiva...and LOVE IT.

Try out each, if you can.

it's a very good idea to do so if you can rather than going on peoples' opinions. but since you asked, i opted for the 6L6 as i found it a little brighter and more open - more so for clean tones and less noticeable on OD tones. i also found the 6L6 OD tones a little less fizzy and tighter in a way. but that's a result of very critical A/B testing. in general there is not all that big a difference. i always say i doubt anyone could tell them apart live. speaker choice and playing technique will make a bigger difference imo.

and no, you cannot use both tubes in same amp. different tubes require a change of transformer according to Bogner.
