Fernandes Ravelle Deluxe or Monterey...Any comments on these???

I just saw (for the first time) a Fernandes Monterey and Ravelle Deluxe guitar while doing a web search for another guitar...very interesting.

Anyone own one of these? What are your thoughts? The tops look beautiful, although the abalone binding around the body and neck on some of the models is a bit over the top for me. Looks to me to be another LP-type guitar...how do they compare to the sound fit and feel of Les Pauls?

Just was wondering what you owners think of them...given that they run almost $900 new for a Chinese made guitar...share pics and comments.

here's my Ravelle:


It's one of my keepers. Does the Les Paul thing really well. In fact, I've since sold 2 of my Les Pauls, so that should tell you something.

Be sure to play them though. I have one from the first batch that were made in China - it was so much better than one I had that was made in Korea. They have since switched back to MIC but not sure if it's the same plant as before.

Thanks for the input...my only problem is that I don't know of any dealers here in Birmingham, AL, so playing one might be difficult. I'll check the dealer listing on their webpage to confirm...anyone else?

My '03 Ravelle is a very nice guitar.
Well made.
No issue with it at all.
