So I purchased a KOT and Klon in 1 week!

This economy is baaaddd! I live in Australia and got a klon centaur from the aussie distributor and a second hand Analogman King of tone from the USA ( yep im one of those guys that is eager to try get better tone today, rather than in 2 years when I might be dead - I can 'currently' afford it and not have to worry about bills too much right now). Anyway I wont tell you how much I payed hehe

Anyway I used them both at my gig last night and WOW!!!!!!!

First off Klon was used as a solo boost and it cut through the band mix better than any of my other pedals I own. (boss, mxr, fulltone, ibanez, maxon, m.i audio, c.a.e, plus a ton of custom made stuff) - My sound with the klon actually cut through better than it ever had before, plus the sustain was beautiful!- so no excuse 'the crowd wouldnt even notice what I was using' if its a case of Solo cutting through the band mix or not cutting through the band mix.. I dont have an effects loop so I've always had the trouble of too much gain and compression from boost pedals. Klon does the job better than anything else I own.

Second the King of Tone - Replaced my seymour duncan twin tube, Used as a layer ontop of my medium overdriven amp to get more gainy tones, therefore a light overdrive ontop of the channel works really nicely to get just abit more of a kick.

Anyway just wanted to say that these to me are incredible sounding pedals and they spendings was worth it at the end of the day as I feel my sound has improved and is quite delightful and inspiring to play with. Very glad I didnt listen to the 'its all hype' 'spending $xxx isnt worth it!' kinda people cos if I did then my sound wouldnt of drastically improved this week. Very happy with it all I just hope people dont get put off from these products from all the slamming 'its all hype' posts. They are both very tranparent and designed to give more 'more of what youve already got' so obviouly the youtube videos of people using them with clean guitars, cleans amps sound like crap.

If its not going to break the bank for you, then I highly recommand both of these pedals

I would buy a Klon if the price was right, but there's no way I'd get a KoT. Thanks for the report.

No probs. I'm not going to say 'these are best in the world' cos I havent played everything in the world hehe but I do own ALOT of pedals and I am convinced they totally kick arse Just up to how we each can afford to spend or wait etc... Really dissapoints me with all the negative posts about them - Used with the right gear, and taking money out of the scinario - they are fantastic guitar pedals, the best that I personally have tried.

Can you say why "there's no way"? Thanks in advance for the info!

I'm very interested in getting a Klon to use as a solo boost. My main amp is a SSS style amp, and am wondering if the Klon would get along with it.

They are apparently abit hit and miss depending on your amp. As some youtube demos would say. But they make my Marshall type amp sing

I own both of those pedals also (KoT on my main board and Klon on my small board). I love them both, and I especially love the Klon with a treble boost (Beano) hitting the front end. Pure magic!

It just boils down to me not being impressed with its design for the price. I don't think I can really go into it here. The Klon is something else, though, really cool pedal.

It's because analog man is evil. 2 OD pedals for $235 is a great price, but he and most of the kidz on H-C know that we are really out to scam you, they figured us out, drats.

No, that's not it at all. I worried that this might happen. I don't think your pricing is out of whack for what you offer, I just don't care for the sound of it for the money. And it's clear that plenty of people do, is it quite necessary to pick on the ones that don't? I've got nothing against you and I wish you success.

Perhaps you're referring to my "I don't think I can really go into it here" comment - frankly this is why I was worried about mentioning anything at all, I didn't want to upset anyone and I'd heard that there were some sensitive folks around. Please accept my apologies for insulting you if I have done that, it wasn't my intention. It isn't that what you sell is overpriced or not worth it - it's just that I have certain priorities when buying pedals which preclude the KoT from my consideration at the price. I have heard nothing but praise for it from most corners, and I don't mean to besmirch you or it.

Have you tried one? What AM gives you for $235 is worth every penny.

I'm familiar with it - I think I could have been more careful in phrasing why I don't want one, it seems I've rather put my foot in my mouth here. I really didn't mean anything untoward. I certainly don't mean that others wouldn't be satisfied with it at that price.

At the risk of offending someone further I will explain a little bit more. The thing is I don't really like the circuit that inspired the KoT's design, so two of them in a row just doesn't do much for me. I didn't mean anything besides that. I'm not one of the people who rages against perceived lack of value, in fact it's clear from the success and general favor for the KoT that it's doing the right things in the market for a lot of folks.

For sure. Mike, since you read this I know you are disapointed that I purchased a 2nd hand KOT, but I needed to have this pedal I wont go into detail but it's impossible for me to wait out the 2 years. Hopefully my positive remark about your pedal will convince some people to get on that waiting list if they are currently a little doubtful
