This is what I call Rock n Roll (raconteurs live)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S4KttUrTKc

trying to convince my band to do this one. Kinda sounds like 'I don't need no doctor' to me: which is a song I love.

great lyrics as well IMO. What a great cover song, never heard the original though. Checking out the Flamin Groovies right now for the first time.

Yeah their recorded stuff is good but nowhere close to the effect they lay down live. Really great band to go see. When these guys first came out I think JW said something to the effect of the stripes being a four-cylinder, and playing with the Rac's was equivalent to stepping up to a V8. I see what he means!

Okay, I'm totally ignorant about the dynamics of the personalities in that band, so this is just my take based on the body language after seeing them twice. I always wonder whether pop-song-craftsman Brendan ever thinks he made a deal with the devil when he put together a band with crazy-for-its-own-sake Jack? Yeah, he's richer and famouser than he would have been on his own, but still... Brendan does these songs with tight arrangements and harmonies, then Jack goes off and does the weird mic thing and the random-sounding guitar thing, and I swear, I have seen Brendan look annoyed during the squalls.

But again, that's just a remark made in ignorance of de true facts.

I'm a big fan of the drummer in this band. I saw him with the Greenhornes a few times and once with the Raconteurs on thier first tour. I think he's the best part of the band.

jack white put the band together and is filling brendans pocket and making him famous...and i'm sure he bankrolled the band early so I think he probably thinks he's lucky to be in the band.

that being said I think benson and white write great stuff together and compliment each other well. Then again white seems to be that way with anyone he decides to play with.

The whole band seemed to be having a blast the two times I saw them.

You got that right. Big marching band bass drum too; you don't see many drummers with that going on.
