A Simple WDW Setup
I've been having lotsa fun with an inexpensive WDW rig...
I've got a Johnson Millennium 150, it's a stereo 2-12 modeling amp. ![]() On the back they've got a Loop Send and Loop Return. According to the manual, the signal out of the Loop Send is totally dry. I tried running the signal into a tube amp on the cleanest setting possible. and it sounds just great, it's fun blending the two tones, and great with stereo delays and choruses, etc... I got the idea from my Digitech 2120, which is basically the preamp and effects section of the Millennium. ![]() I run the 2120 into a Peavey 60/60 power amp into 2 Marshall 1936 Model 2-12 cabs. Then I run the Loop out of the 2120 into a Fender Showman into a Bandmaster 2-12 cab in between the Marshall cabs. This setup is in the basement, and I've got a lot of seperation between the Marshall cabs. Sounds really nice. I could see the Johnson setup for playing out, it's not too much stuff to haul. Maybe use a Deluxe Reverb or Peavey Classic 30 for the dry. It'd be cool to connect the speakers in a true WDW setup. Anyways, for those of you who have never tried a Wet/Dry/Wet setup... don't do it, it's hard to go back to a mono rig....
