I've got a regular, FMIC Made in Japan version.... I've been thinking of putting a set of TVJs in it. The stockers sound pretty darn great (Think Malcolm Young type crunch) with OD and distortion, but are lacking that Gretsch sparkle when clean. I can get better "Gretschy", Setzer type tones from my R4 (middle position) into my Hiwatts or even my SF Twin than I can with my Gretsch......

On the album it sounds like there's a wee bit of compression on the guitars, which contributes to its hugeness....

as far as marshalls go,Jim Marshall was told by his store manager that Townsend had run up a large tab.Jim Marshall was and is a frugal man call and asked for the bills to be paid.Townsend refused saying his use of the product was good advertising for Marshall, that ended the relationship.by written accounts "won't get fooled again" was either recorded with a tweed bandmaster or blonde bassman
