Yes, that should work.

The Dr. Z KT45 I mentioned fits the bill, too. The amp has a small footprint. The EF86 front end takes pedals extremely well. I gigged one for a year or so, great amp. Dr. Z describes it as Hiwatt meets Vox tones and I think I'd concur. Can be found for less than $1500.

Sure. The cleans sound all Mark series to me (which I like). They do take pedals well. The disto channel gives you another sound. Very "grab and go" to simply plug in one cord with a tiny pedal for a real tube distortion channel.

It is often out of fashion to mention boogies here, but since we're talking them... I had a Mav 2X12 combo. It took pedals VERY well and had a much more "fendery" clean. I assume the head (now used) would sound the same. It also has the two channel thing going on. 33 watts of EL 84 is pretty decent. The clean head room is obviously not quite as high as the 6L6 DC 5.

Boogie Mark IIB. 60/100 watt. TONS of headroom. Great clean channel. Plus you get a really nice lead channel, too. Try to get one with the 5 band eq.

A lot of jazz guitarists play with solid state amps... lots of clean headroom and really light-weight.
I have a Jazzkat Tomkat, 120 watts, 10" emmenice speaker with built - in effects ( reverbs are the best) and best of all .. 20lbs.
You won't find too many of them used. This one has a tube preamp, and it takes pedals well.
