I love my gear...

... and I don't mean it in a boastful way, either.

I am sure that some would look at my stuff and say "Not bad, but you need a Les Paul"

My point is, although I suffer from GAS as much as the next guy, I must admit that I am very content with my current line up and that I am getting an absolute blast with it.

As of late, health issues have stopped me from playing, but I recently started again a little, and what a joy to plug my Crook S-type into a Carr Mercury tonight... or the Trussart SteelCaster deluxe into a Swart AST. Simply joy. Great tones, great gear. I feel blessed to be playing again.

Sure, I lost some chops - well, that's if I had any to lose in the first place - but I can't be brought down at this stage.

Playing is a blessing, regardless of talent level, and cool gear is cool gear anyway you slice it, especially when it's your cool gear

All right, back to the emporium to look for the next axe

No one, and I do mean no-one, can sway me or into buying a piece of gear based soley on their recommendation alone. I know what I like and there's nothing anyone can say to change that. I wish I had a nickel for every time someone said that I needed a Strat or LP, I'd have like......four dollars.

I hope you are feeling better mojo. Taking joy in your musical tools is one good step in that direction. It's easy to feel good with a mighty fine tele in your hands, yes?

Thanks guys for the kind words and wishes, and for understanding where I was coming from.

I know I do tend to focus too much on *the next one* and not enough in the ones I already have.

More guitars are always fun to have, but what's more fun is being completely satisfied with what you already have. Congrats, playing the guitar is much more fun, and much easier when you love the sound you have.

Health issues?!? Are you okay, man? I had no idea you weren't doing well and I hope it wasn't anything too serious. Terribly sorry to hear that, but it's great to hear that you're now back to playing a bit. I hope things keep improving!

Oh, and I'm pretty sure I would love my gear too if I had your guitars and amps.

Hey, i didn't know that you've been sick, either. Bummer. And I say that as you have taught me to play any number of songs from your website and I'm thanking you for that. And yeah, I know what you mean by appreciating the gear that we currently own. Me, I'm enthralled by the sounds that i can make from my instruments and i'm only a mid-level player (but who has good stuff).

Mojo...Whatever is ailing you I wish you all the best and my prayers are with you. I feel as you do. I have some very nice gear and enjoy it very much and ..yes I still want some other pieces of gear. As of late I'm looking for a very low powered amp w. reverb and trem just for the bedroom....Anyway a bit off track. Take care and God Bless.
