Got a silly question: Convert Guitar 1x12 to 1x12 Monitor?

Is that possble? I got a really nice cab and to be honest I don't want to sell it but I dont need it now. If I put in a different speaker like I dont know a speaker designed for monitors could it work as a monitor? What all SHOULD I do to make this work? Or is it just stupid?
Be honest, haha thanks!

there's no reason it shouldn't work. for the most part, a speaker box is a box.

cheers,

Just find a PA speaker, perhaps a coaxial with a horn in the middle, Carvin maybe?
