My Sheraton started sounding funny...help

So today I pulled out my Sheraton II (my go to guitar) to practice it sounded totally off.

I usually play in the middle position. I like the balance of the bright sound and the mellow sound...but today when I switched to middle, it sounded just like the neck! There was no difference between the neck sound and the middle sound.

Did a wire come loose? What happened?

(I take great care of my guitar, had for almost 7 years now, bought it new, always store it in the case etc etc, it was working fine the last time I played it.)

ok bump?

maybe a little more info will get a response?

i am pretty sure the pickups are in series because when in the middle position, either volume knob will affect the overall volume...

AND i noticed that when I switched from middle to bridge, there was a VERY slight pop...

so any help here as to what is going on?

Epi is notorious for bad toggle switches. You need a Switchcraft or Gibson replacement. Might as well change out the jack and pots while you're at it.

A beat-up Japanese (Conrad) dread with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides,
An Epiphone Riviera Deluxe with GFS pickups, through a weird modified Guild amp I got from Champlifer, here.

cheap switches and tone pots - just swap in good ones
