Question How dramatic a difference is there between the TopHat Emplexadore original and

the MkII? Has anyone ever compared the two versions side by side?

Was the different output transformer the only change, or were their other mods as well?

You could call Brian at TopHat to get the full scoop or post over at the TH forum, but I'm pretty sure it was primarily an output transformer upgrade and not a circuit change. The MkII is supposed to be improved, I haven't heard one yet but the older models are phenomenal amps (I have a '97 and have owned a 2001) and you can't go wrong with one!

you can also try sending a pm to tenguitars in this forum. He seems to know his tophats pretty well.
