Name this effect-a swirly challenge with some Takoma/raga flavor

http://www.mandragora.com/auto_battl...llie040806.m3u

This is a live set from Willie Lane, a great New England guitarist - very American Primitive/Takoma/ raga-what have you........

What effect is that which is on the whole time during this show?
kind of a slow rotary thing?

some different live with MV & EE:

Sounds like stereo modulating reverb, either added post recording or at the mixer board. Unless he's using 2 amps, or feeding the board in stereo. Or, some sort of stereo modulation into reverb. He needs to tune his guitar next time.

taking a wild stab - it sounds like some type of magnetic pickup (not piezo or transducer) going direct to board using metal fingerpicks. You can hear the occasional chirp from the fingerpicks hitting the strings. They have such a distinct sound to my ear (that I personally have shied away from). The mizrab used with a sitar is essentially a metal fingerpick, though more of a single stiff, large gauge wire (about like a paper clip in thickness) that wraps around the index finger, so the comparisons seem in the ball park. It really reminds me of fingerstyle guitarists on resophonic guitars. LOTS of chirping (well, it depends on the player).

Outside of that, sounds like a reverb pedal cranked with a light modulation afterwards going straight to the board

he's a great player and all around swell guy-
he has a wonderful solo record-which is vinyl only
and some CDRs as well

he told me he couldn't remember what he was using-maybe a Small Stone and possibly an RV-5.....
