Best authentic vintage-sounding Strat pickups?

I have a 1983 '62 Reissue Stratocaster with the standard Fender '57/'62 pickups and I've always thought they sounded kind of generic. I mean they sound good and "Fendery" but I'm looking for something with a little more vintage sonic character (like my '63 Jaguar has). I don't think it's a question of them not being wound hot enough (they're all in the 6k range) but there's just a certain something that seems to be lacking and I can't put my finger on it.

Using my old '64 Strat for a point of reference, the closest I found so far are Mare Josie's.....

Get in touch with Aaron at Rumpelstiltskin and he will custom wind what you are seeking... remarkably good value for simply outstanding tone.

Another vote for Nick's Rocketfire Strat pickups.

I own one of his Strats, and the pickups are the best sounding, truest to vintage tone I've ever had.

I imagineeevery boutique and even non-boutique manufacture that pops up when you Google "vintage stratocaster pickups" could offer the goods, just different versions of cherry vanilla.

Different set of Fender Custom Shop pups, Lollar, Fralin, Bare Knuckle, Duncan, Dimarzio, Novak, etc.
