Anybody here like John Frusciante?

I have really been digging "When Shadows Collide with People" and "Curtains" lately. Any one else like his music?

HUGE fan! Go check out The Empyrean (I think I spelled it right) if you dig his solo stuff.

Yes. I have liked John Frusciante quite a bit since the 80s. Great sense of groove, and interesting voicings and note choices.

Yep. Just learned Under The Bridge. It was a forgotten goal from years ago.

Under the Bridge......just reaks of Hendrix like Strat tones. I'm not a big RHCP fan but I always loved that song!

Wow. Thanks for introducing me to his solo work. I like the Empyrean stuff best so far. His vocal ability improved a lot over the Curtains and
Shadows stuff that I found....
His voice sounds like a combination of Lenny Kravitz, Bradley Noel, and
the UB40 (Ali Campbell?) singer.

I've been a fan of RHCP since I was 12 (1999) when I first heard Otherside that my dad was gonna cover at one of his gigs. But as a pure reflex kinda thing, I always avoided his taste in music (ranging from Jimi Hendrix and Rolling Stones to James Brown to Robert Johnson), but now I really love having a dad with the same taste in music as me. Lol, it's 09:20 here and I've been up all night... I'm really rambling away here.
Anyways, John Frusciante is my #1 hero of all times and I love his ways of looking at things, even stuffs that has nothing to do with music and he is someone I'm really inspired by in everything I do, and for the last 3 years I've been listening to more of his solo stuffs than his work with RHCP.

Long, weird post, but hope you got some of it

I was listening to Dani California recently...

I know it's gets a bad rap for being suspiciously close to Tom Petty's Mary Jane however there are some really great riffs and tone going on in both the verses and hooks.
I appreciate his sense of taste...when to play and when not to. Great tone all around on that track

Have been for years. My favorite of his solo stuff is his first album: Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt

It is so raw and recorded in his basement mostly.
