Humbucker help

I have a Vintage Mahogany LP. I did not care for the stock pickups, the neck was OK, but a little harsh. I have a McCarty that had Fralins, a neck 8.2 and a bridge 9.0. I replaced the fralins with WCR Crossroads neck and Darkburst bridge. I put the Fralins in the LP. Now the neck pup is a little too wooly for me and I will replace it with a WCR Crossroads. (LOVE it in the McCarty!) I need something that will compliment the Crossroads in the LP, I am looking into Sheptone or Wolfetone.

I put the Fralin bridge back in the McCarty, it just sounds right with the Crossroads neck. I loved the Fralin in the LP but I want to try another pickup. Also the Fralin seems to take a bit of fighting to get the sound out, nothing wrong with that, but going from the Crossroads that is more responsive to light touch to the Fralin where you need to dig in more is a little off balance. The Darkburst has a great tone to it but it was a little bright in the McCarty and in the LP I lost that vintage fat vibe of the Fralin. The WCR has great string separation and sounds great when banging out chords but it has a certain airy sound that sounds modern to me. You with me? I my not be coming across right. IF you know what I mean and you know the sound of the Fralin and WCR, which humbucker will give my that Fralin vibe but will have less fight to it, the Sheptone of the Wolfetone? Thank you for your help, I have done a lot of research using the search here on TGP.

oh and I use a Germino Classic 45 with no pedals.

Before you start buying pups, have you adjusted the pickup height at all?

Thumbs up

Talk to Wolfe at Wolfetone. He'll hook you up, plus he's got a 20% off sale going on right now.
