EHX Micro Pog vs. Foxrox Octron

I need an octave pedal for lead work. I'm looking at these two. Any preferences and reasons for?

gracias

Have you checked the POG2?

I have not tried the Octron, so can't comment on that pedal

But I think the POG2 is worth the extra cash and pedalboard space over ther micropog due to thre extra features and presets

Cheers

They are very different pedals...do a search and read up but in short the deal is that the Octron is analog and the sub octave while strong is not as strong as the POG's since the POG is digital. Also, on the upper octave the Octron is an Octavia style upper octave...this means fuzzy overtones and it only works well between the 9th and 15th fret...the POG is digital and has a constant ton up and down the neck and is perfectly cleanbut the tone is night and day different...

as wingwalker said, the octronwill almost never give you those clean hi octave sounds as the pog.
Being analog most of the times it only likes single notes... so.. I love the octron... but it's really up to what you need to do.

the pog being digital will also probably track better but will still have some latency if put in an effect loop of a delay for example.

I don't have the real estate for the POG2. I did some research and watched some videos. It seems like the Micro POG will be the way to go for me. I need something that tracks very well. I'm not totally psyched that it's digital, but it seems like a good pedal.

if the Micro Pog tracks and sounds like its big brother then that's the way I'd go...I've had two Octrons and both did nothing for me...I got rid of my POG because of real estate considerations...

I was just about to snap up a Micro Pog but now I'll get a POG2 when I can ...

Another big difference- the pog is polyphonic. The octron will get glitchy with chords.

I had a POG and recently downsized to a microPog since I was only using the suboctave and a little 1 up. The micropog doesn't sound quite as good to my ears, but it tracks and comes close enough for me to keep using it.
