DMM on/off switch problem

My DMM power switch doesn't "catch" or "click" when I turn it on or off. The pedal works, but the on/off switch slides back and forth and doesn't stick to one side. Is this an easy fix for a not so handy guy? Any help is much appreciated.

I've had the same thing happen on a few EHX pedals. Great sounding gear but sometimes the construction seems a little cheap-o (especially their slider switches). I had to send it in for repair when this happened to my Graphic Fuzz. Email them and Chip Scooter Dugan will tell you where to send it for the fix. It usually costs $15 unless it's still under warranty.

I had this issue with a DMM I purchased from PGS - they allowed me to return it due to the defective switch.

I've done it for a pickup selector switch on a Fender Mustang that I used to own, its possible, but its a pain in the ass. You open them by gently prying the 4 little crimped bits that hold the metal body together with the wafer part. And inside there are little bitty pins that you can try and tighten against the slider, and then everything falls apart when you try and put it back together.

From personal experience I'd sooner just replace it if it bugs you that much:

If you're running the DMM off a power strip there is really no reason to ever turn it "off" with the switch. I know it would bug me though so I'd agree with sending it to EHX to have them fix it.

I recieved one that way from eBay resulting from a crappy packing job. I took it apart and put it back togehter and it has worked fine ever since. THis was years ago so I don't remeber the details, but if you're a fixer type at all it might be worth a shot.
