BF bassman, chronic rattle... Looking for suggestions...
My bassman has this horrible chronic rattle that seems to be some sort of physical rattle rather than the result of circuitry or something... Apart from going thru and tightening everything up in the head... Do ppl have any suggestions of things i should look for or have prior experience with this... Its a 67 bassman...
Cheers. |

to pin down the problem...take the chassis out of the cab and fire the amp up....this will help seperate a possible cab rattle from a chassis (or tube) rattle. It makes it easier to listen to the rattle...could be a screw, jack nut, rivet, jewel light assembly or tube(s) in regards to the chassis.
If not from the chassis, place the chassis on a towel on top of the cab and play to help locate cab rattle...if no rattle, maybe it was one of the chassis screws/nuts causing the rattle.....
