Anyone going to the Philly guitar show this weekend ?
I'll be going....looking to trade some stuff for a CS Shop Strat or something. Hopefully, there will be some good deals with the economy the way it is !!
I go every year though, it's an addiction.

I'm not sure if I should say "thanks for the heads up" or "
".I have serious fuzz pedal gas.... so stay away from then !! ![]() I might only be able to make Sunday. How come I only ever hear about this show through a forum or c-list ?? ![]() I managed to only leave with an empty Reverend case last year. A bunch of people asked "what model" only to be disappointed.

Went today. Not one of the better Philly shows. The amount of vendors was down and the selection was mainly junk. The economy and internet has really cut into the classic guitar show. Philly used to be a great show and one of the bigger shows nationally. It is unfortunate. Maybe they will come back some day soon. It was nice seeing a few dealers who are genuine and nice people too including our TGP member westchesterdave-a class act and Jimmy Wallace who is always friendly and has a few cool things at his booth.

Not a bad show and it seemed packed for july in phila. one at the expo center a few years ago was empty. But keep in mind
1.Come on what do you expect we are in depression. 2. Prices were always high. 3. Deals can be found, maybe not a 52 tele for 2g's but there is some cool stuff. 4. imense selection....more stuff thant 20 or 30 GC's all in one place. 5. price too high...HAGGLE. these guys expect you too, like a bazzar in the middle east. If they won't come do take your cash home. A buddy neede a beater bass. the dealer would not come 10 bucks to his counter offer so my friend walked. Know what the market price is and know what you want to pay. over all maybe not a killer vintage ( not a lot of bursts to fuss over) so but a pretty good guitar bazzar with used gear and odds n ends |

It was an OK show, I think the fall show is usually more crowded, but alas we are in a recession. Show was about 1/3 smaller, vendors and all. If you were looking for something specific, you were going to get a good deal.
I haggled down a CS Page era Strat down $350.00, w/out a problem. Traded an AM Kotv4 for a Klon as well.
