Tube Screamer Help

Im looking to buy a tube screamer but not sure which one to get. Ive looked at all the clones and the original ibanez ones. Im kind of leaning toward the Maxon OD808. I play alot of pop/punk stuff like blink 182 and Green Day and will use the pedal for lead stuff.

any help is appreciated

Think of the Ibanez tube screamer as Miller Lite.

The Maxon could be Bud Light.

Something like the Sparkle Drive could be a bit more high end like Molson or Labatt.

Something like the Landgraff could be Founder's Kentucky Breakfast Stout.

I guess what I'm saying is they are all beer...just depends which flavor/style you like...

It's almost impossible to recommend. The TS has to be the most copied, modified, improved, tweaked pedal out there.

If you are new to these start with the original, or something even cheaper like the Boss Super Overdrive (Coors Light). Taste it, find out what you like about it, decide what more you'd like out of it, then go search for your perfect TS.

Just get the one that looks cool and start from there, because all of them won't be that different unless you've been here too long
