Buy a Blackheart amp?

In the small amp category, I currently own a Fender Champ, and a Vox AC4TV. I love these small amps. Gives me the sound of the amp manufacturers but in a small package which is is necessary for my situation (Duplex living).

I was looking into the Blackheart 1W and 5W versions as I've heard good reviews. My goal is to get a Marshall overdriven type sound in a small package. While I know that's asking a lot, I was hoping that this Blackheart might fill that void. I was also looking into the Tech21 British pedal as the Youtube videos are excellent.

How can the overdriven tone of a Blackheart be classified it sounds Vox like from the videos I've seen? It's impossible to find a local dealer that sells these.

Will adding this amp provide enough tonal variety from the Fender and Vox? Advice?

Marshall just came out with a small 5 watt amp. Perhaps this could be an option for you.

I have the Killer Ant and it has a real close Marshall sound. Pretty much AC\DC classic rock tone in a small package. Just make sure you don't need any chimey clean sounds out of it cause that ain't gonna happen. FYI I play an '89 Studio and an '09 Epi Goldtop thru it. Suites me perfectly.

I had no idea that Marshall was coming out with a 5 watt combo. I did some searching on the net and it sounds like a great idea. Price point around $400. Any idea on release date because I couldn't really find it. Hopefully, it will give me that classic Marshall sound. Don't see why it wouldn't.

I'll tell you what though...I don't love the demo of the Class 5 on the Marshall website. It sounds very muddy. Is it just the case of the Les Paul going through it. Between these two demos I think the Sansamp sounds better.

buy a used JCM 800 with a master volume. that's probably going to sound better at bedroom levels than a cheap little chinese amp with teeny weeny iron in it.

or even a 3203. that's going to be more affordable, if all you want is a bedroom amp.

You're right about only needing a bedroom amp. I don't know what much about amps outside of the Fender brand so any info. would be highly helpful.

you could probably find a used JTM30 at that price point....very versatile marshall, possibly best clean sound ever for a marshall all the way up to JCM 800 territory. Vintage Guitar Mag just had a write up about these underappreciated amps
