Difference between these trem(okay fine, vibrato) units?
http://www.allparts.com/store/guitar...10,Product.asp
AND http://www.allparts.com/store/guitar...10,Product.asp They look pretty identical to me, save for the price difference of $80. Quality-wise, Wilkinson should be pretty much on par with Gotoh, yes? Thanks in advance. |

One is an actual Wilkinson... the other is a "Licensed by" using the same shape.
Given the track record I've found with the other Wilkinson model (the one with the long saddles that clamp down) as well as floyds... I think the extra money is worth it for saddles that don't strip out, screws that don't get loose and fall out, and a better tone block. Generally the imports use inferior metals and are often cast parts intead of milled from a solid piece of metal.

The Gotoh 510T is not a steel block trem.
The best 6 hole trem I've tried is the Gotoh 510TS (the steel block version, which allparts will special order for a big upcharge). It's the one Suhr uses. PM our own BK-Amps for this trem at a fantastic price. Ray

Ah yes, thanks for pointing that out too. I had done some research prior to this, and was indeed looking for the 510TS-SF1/2. I pm-ed BK earlier this morning and am waiting for his reply
Tks!
