Anybody using the Taylor T5 with Bronze acoustic strings?

I know this guitar has been disliked a lot for it's acoustic tones but I was wondering who has used it with Bronze acoustic strings and if that helped the acoustic tones.

I'm also thinking of getting one and replacing the acoustic factory pickup with an LR Baggs Element system. Anybody have experience with this.

i borrowed my friend's Koa T5 for a gig once, and it was fitted with acoustic strings. i've never really liked T5's, but i had to have both (acoustic and electric) sounds without switching guitars for that particular gig. to me, the acoustic strings didn't help very much. maybe it was the fact that i was plugged into a fender blues jr (terrible amp, btw), but at another gig about a week later i still had it, so i plugged into an acoustic amp (SWR california blonde) and it still didn't sound that great. the strings didn't really help the action either...

sorry if i'm being a prophet of gloom... nothing beats the sound of a full-body acoustic, but i think the guitar that imitates it best (at least in my experience so far) is the PRS Hollowbody w/L.R. Baggs saddle pickup.

great observations. I actually moved on and bought a Crafter SAT. Never looked back. The acoustic tones on the Crafter are very nice.
