Woodstock - Artist Complete Set CDs

I know some (many?) of you are sick of hearing about Woodstock.
But . . . there are now a few CD complete artist sets including the Airplane, Santana, Sly, Janis and Johnny Winter:

This is very cool.

So, for those that say the music sucked at Woodstock – give a listen! Judge not, that you be not judged.

I think that's the only one not released (TYA) - contractual issues...

I have not been able to believe that for 40 years, no one has released something like this... nice to be able to hear what the boys played, not just what made the movie... TYA has 'contractual issues'? WTF? After 40 friggin' years, what contracts are still THAT strong? A shame if their set isn't released - they were an amazing band, back in the day...

I look forward to hearing some of these...

Maybe contractual issues as in Alvin Lee and the rest of the band seem to be on bad terms with each other these days

That stinks! The TYA set was the first one that popped into my mind as a, must have.

I used to have a bootleg of the Band's performance from the original soundboard. I love those guys, but it was a pretty lousy performance - nowhere near as good as Rock of Ages. It was interesting to hear Robbie Robertson play acoustic, though; I don't think he ever played acoustic on an official live album.

I heard a lot of the sets playing on Sirius radio (Woodstock Channel)this past weekend. There are some real gems there.

I'm pretty sure the Dead don't want their set released, they hated it. I have heard the tape and I didn't think it was all that bad. Egypt was worse and they released that though, so you never know.

You know, that's a good question. I wondered the same thing.

I'm gonna see Jorma in a few weeks and I just might ask him and see if he knows.

I also have a couple of other options to try and find out.

Ya know, the Band's "lousy performance" at Woodstock I think has become somewhat of an urban legend.

They didn't play until late Sunday night and I left Sunday afternoon.
But from what I've seen/heard, they weren't that bad:
