I'm not very familar with Dumble inspired amps, but...

Is it me or does Fuchs tend to be a little more underrated vs Two Rocks, Bludotones, Glaswerks, and some of the others. The sound clips on the Fuchs website are at least as "good" to my ears as the ones on the others' websites. I'm not a big Dumble-style tone connoisseur but I think the entire Fuchs line sounds great. Andy Fuchs seems to really be kickin' butt these days with some of his designs. My 2 cents worth. BTW, I'm a huge Louis Electric Amps fan. Tweed based amps just fit my playing style extremely well.

Fuchs are great amps. All the dumble styled amps are a little different variation of the same thing. Fuchs may be considered a bit less "boutiqey" as they are a larger operation and you can actually buy the product without a wait. Andy is very responsive and it helps that he's on TGP. So is Brandon (Bludo), Shad (Quinn) and Gary (Glaswerks)

Fuchs are great amps, I'd love to have one someday.
I think the wait time enhances the mystique of the other
guys but I know for a fact there's no B.S. about Glaswerks.
My SOD 100 has put a lot of searching and G.A.S. to rest for me.

A 100 watt Fuchs would be a nice addition someday though.

"Underrated" is an inaccurate term. I'd say, "sometimes underappreciated on TGP". Andy's got some of the biggest names in the business touring with his gear and has received the highest accolades around the world from all the biggest trade rags, so his stuff is anything but underrated. It's as highly rated as it gets!

Andy's been in the biz for a long time, but the tendency in the gear world is to flock to anything new and different, so with all the new kids on the block these days, people tend to do just that, especially on TGP.

But, in clips and in person, the Fuchs stuff is as good as, as authentic as or better than anything out there. In head to head clips and in live concerts I've seen, I personally continue to prefer Andy's amps over most real Dumbles...and many times, by quite a margin. And, wait till you dig into his pedals. I recently picked up an Extreme Cream for use in a pedalboard I use when forced to use a foreign backline, like at festivals. Well, at rehearsal the other night into an Allen Accomplice, I was blown away. Totally shocked by how amazing it sounded. I want to use it all the time now as part of the arsenal.

Lastly, you will not receive better customer support anywhere in any industry.

I have a Fuchs 100W ODSLX head...
sounds RIGHTEOUS with my 112 EVM12L Mesa cab.
Or my Two Rock 112 with a Fane alnico.

I have a Fuchs hand-tuned ODS-50 SLX 1x12 combo with a few factory mods, 4-button footswitch, and loaded with a EVM-12L. When I bought it in mid 2005 I considered it to be the last tube guitar amp I'd ever have to buy and I still feel that way. It's what electric guitar sounds like for me.

Considering all of the pro's using Andy's amps I'd say they rate pretty high.

I'm not sure if you understood my point. The OP was wondering why certain amps seem to be underrated around here. It seems to me that a few braying bucks manage to stampede the entire herd. The rest of us are a bunch of sheep, afraid we might miss out on some greener grass.

I couldn't agree more that the only way to appreciate a piece of gear is to try it out for yourself. The rest is internet hype and, as seductive as it may be, is ultimately meaningless.

True, that. While I became aware of and interested in Andy's amps through TGP it never occured to me to purchase one until I had opportunity to play through one myself. Pedals? Sure. They're relatively inexpensive and easy to flip and ship. A $3K amp? No way, not before I demo it myself.

I've got ZERO experience with real Dumbles but I plugged into a Fuchs ODS last year and it completely blew my mind!
So you know...I dunno' how "close" it is to the real deal and all...but it sounded so great I could care less.
Fuchs is making an outstanding product in my opinion!
