i did the same thing with my dd-20...sold for a timefactor and never looked back...look into a timefactor, superdelay or timeline...wouldn't go with a ML just because it's all analog and the above mentioned are more flexible...though I do have a ML2 along side of my timefactor, ep-2, dl4, ps3...but that's another story...

Had a super delay. It sounded great and had awesome features....

I sold it for the Memory Lane 2 because I realized I don't use or need all those features and instead want a simple analog delay that I can really tweak the tone of.

In the "digital delay" running, the super delay is the one you want. Has the benefits of high quality digital, but does not necessarily have to sound "digital"...

Have you considered a Digitech Timebender? I picked one up recently and have been shocked with the sound quality and features. It does 'tape' better than any other digital delay i've heard.

i have went through... time bender, dd-20, dl4, and tc electronics (don't really use tape alot)... but tone wise i stuck with the dd-20... i'm not bashing any of the other ones... but to my liking i went with the dd-20, It's been a while since i've had it, but now i'm looking to upgrade i'm gonna go for analog delays next, but for now, i'm only trying to get a better digi delay. The superdelay caught my ear... the time line is good too... but i think the superdelay just rocks \,,/

I've had great luck with the Eventide TimeFactor for a couple of key reasons. Firstly it offers selectable instrument/line level switches instead of having to hit a menu on the inside of the DD-20 that many people are unaware off. On a Marshall JVM for instance a DD3 will distort in the loop, the DD-20 solved that problem. That said, the Eventide is the most feature rich delay pedal I have on hand. The Digital Delay setting offers a filter that either makes success delays brighter or darker depending on where it's set. It's a workhorse and if you're needing a unit to double for your PA or studio, this is a studio quality delay. One of the other delays settings allows you to downsample (not the only delay to do it) the delay which is another feature I really enjoyed. It has on board midi jacks which makes it rack friendly as well...

I really like my T-Rex Replica and EHX Deluxe Memory Man (modded)...As always, it depends on what you are playing or the sound you are going for...
