Fixing a loose base on a KT66 tube?

I have a new set of Groove Tube KT66-Cs that I bought for my Soldano. I used them for a day or two, then removed them. Now I'm wanting to put them back in, but I noticed that the base is loose on one of them. To be honest, it would probably work just fine leaving it slightly loose and going with it, but I'd rather fix it somehow.

I've heard that superglue or clear nail polish will work to secure the base to the glass. Is this a good fix? Any other ideas?

PS - I did contact Groove Tube about it and they said to return them to the store and get another set. The store doesn't have another set and to be honest with you, I'd rather just fix these.

superglue did the trick for me.

make sure the tube is cool and put a nice bead all around the base of the tube.

the first time i did it not in the tube socket and it came loose while putting it in. the second time i left it in the socket and glued it.

it's worked for a couple of months with frequent gigs...

Awesome! THanks for the info. I've read where some people say super glue could cause hot spots on the tube, but others say they've done this with no problem at all. I think I'll give it a whirl.

The store should order another set for you. Should have them in by next week.

I know that's the best thing to do. I'd feel better having a new set and it would just be right. But, and this isn't a real good excuse, it's a little inconvenient going to this particular store. It's out of my way quite a bit and since the tubes actually work fine and I've read this is a somewhat regular issue with some tubes, I'd rather just fix it and gamble I guess.

Probably a dumb move, but hey...
