I bought one just the other hour. I wonder why this pedal doesn't get talked about. It seems like a dream theoretically. In a week or two I'll tell you what I think about it.

I will look forward to hearing your impressions...

Guess I will have to get one and see too.

I agree this may be what I have been looking for, for a long long time.

I haven't had the time to test it that much. But my impressions this far is that it is like a blend between a distortion pedal and a fuzz pedal.

Pros: It has a really good "marshally" bite into it. Like how a Crunch box reacts to your picking with a Les Paul, but the difference is that the Metalloid is not as compressed. And it isn't as flat/scooped as many Roger Mayer pedals are, and thatīs good IMHO. The EQ works incredibly well (and now you have two)! Works perfect with a Les Paul AND a strat. Almost better with a Strat actually! You can get a really balanced and fat sound with it, which is sometimes hard to get with a strat.

Cons: It has that Turbo Rat fuzzy "tail" to it. At least when you get past 12 oī clock with the drive(s). And unfortunately you canīt get chunky metal sounds (And justice for all...) out of it at all.

Thanks for the update...the tail part would be a deal breaker for me...

...I was hoping for a type of crunch with clean on top type of sound...so hopefully I wouldn't need a lot of drive.

Guess I will see when it comes...

But your post reinforces by belief that it's an odd name for that pedal.

I agree with your comments here. I got one this week too.
Its very versatile and its great to have sweet spots for for high and low frequencies. I'm finding it almost too tweakable. Can do OD, distortion and can get a close approximation of my RM Axis Fuzz too.

I've been on Roger Mayer binge and also picked up an older Voodoo-1 this week which sounds warmer than the Metalloid.
I'm going to spend some time comparing them today, so the Metalloid may end up on the chopping block...
