mmmm hermida cabs enroute!

I've got a pair of Alf's wonderful closed back thiele ported 1x12s on the way, which will flank my glaswerks thiele ported 1x12 for a wet/dry/wet setup....

If you haven't experienced this style of cab I highly recommend it - all the chime and spread of an open back, but with huge, tight, controlled bass.

I plan to load them with EV12Ls, though would love to try a Scholz Sugarcone at some point.

These two are actually replacing my current one - but will have tolex and grill to match the rest of my rig. That said, I've never run 3 thieles at once, I have high hopes!

Are you having that done through Alf?

I'm interested in matching my gear too...

what makes his closed back cab a thiele cab? i have his 112 closed back cab and there is nothing inside it in the way of baffles etc. just a cab with a couple of ports. i'm not being sarcastic, i just don't know and would like to know. thanks.ok, i read about it, it's the dimensions and ports tuned to a speaker. so, what speaker did alf tune his cab to? i have a cele 1265 in it.

The cubic inch size inside the cab. This is called the "Theile Parameter" and will be different for evey speaker.

He said he did a compromise so that the EV12L and an EMI RW&B would work in it. He likes both speakers as well as a whole bunch of others.
