Guitar shops in Fort Worth area?

Just moved to the area (20 miles west of Ft Worth) and need to find some good local shops (other than GC).

Please advise, and for the right shop....I am willing to drive a bit more to Dallas side :-)

Ken

Fort Worth has very little for guitar shops right now. Zoo music used to have a lot of stuff but I havent been there for a couple years...they are the only one actually in Fort Worth that would be worth checking out. I recomend Murphy's Music in Irving. It's at 183 and McArthur. Very nice store that's family operated by Mike and Buzz Murphy. They are a fairly large store with a lot of nice stuff. It's about the only local place I shop anymore. For tech/repair work in Fort Worth I recomend Kerry Cash at Kerry's guitar shop at 183 and Brown trail. Welcome to DFW!

Well let's see, you mentioned GC, but you should check out Craig's Music in Weatherford.

thanks for the welcome Wally1 ! I can't get over how NICE people are down here. I had noticed it before some when visiting, but now that we are living here....it is really a big difference !!!
Klein: will add Charley's to the list as well.
Tone: I will definitely check out Craig's since they are only 10 minutes from me.

Welcome Ken

To the area. Reads like you are in Weatherford? I'm near you west of Crowley on FM-1187. We dont have many retailers in Ft. Worth so the Guitar Center is about it. Good news is they are one of the better stores as far as the staff goes. I never fail to get a deal and they are not all about themselves. I dont do retail but I do repairs, setups and custom builds/finishing. If you need something or want some help doing something yourself, feel free to contact me.

Rhomco: thanks for the Wecome :-)
Yes, I am east of Weatherford in Hudson Oaks. We are just south of I-20 and 20 miles west of Ft. Worth. I have not been to the GC on Hulen St but from the looks of it....they have a lot of used gear....always a good sign for a GC.

Good to know that there is local setup guy too, do you do acoustic and electric? I tend to mess with my own electric setup, but leave work on my Taylor to the pros.
thanks!
Ken

Competition Music, on Lancaster, East Ft Worth. Pretty big shop, but well organized, and lots of used gear. A friend of mine teaches guitar there, and they sponsor a guitar show, (small) every year. Mostly vintage stuff, but worth checking out. Welcome to the neigborhood.
