Bitrate for itunes download?
I want to purchase the new Black Crows Before the Freeze via iTunes because it includes the free "2nd album" in the download. I just want to make sure its 256k. Anyone download it yet? Id rather buy at the store and download the free stuff from the black crowes site if its only 128k.
Thanks all

It should be 256 if it's got the iTunes Plus symbol (+).

Download from Amazon. I think they're 256.
Also, I am seeing the plus sign on iTunes. |

Hold on, the stuff on iTunes is in AAC format. The bit rates are smaller but the quality is better than MP3. A 128 bit rate is quite different in quality in AAC than it is in MP3.

Good info...I want to start using itunes as a source of music since I have a ton of cds that just sit and collect dust. Just want to know what the quality of the download is..

Sure, it forces you to buy one of the few personal music players that supports FLAC, but isn't that ultimately better than perpetuating the industry of lowest common denominator sound quality? I know I'm in the tiny minority and just , but I keep trying . . . .
