Got to sit in with Richie Cole today!!!

I was playing at the Jenkintown Jazzfest today and Richie Cole invited me to sit in. I have been listening to Richie since the 80s. I discovered one of my favorite guitarists, Bruce Forman, playing with Richie.

So, it was a real treat!! TGPer Pinner was there to iPhone it.

That's really great, Scott. And, yes, Bruce Forman is a stud on guitar. Is that the new Carruthers model that you got earlier this year? I remember when you posted about getting it. How do you like it and how does it work for more straight ahead stuff?

I wish I knew, I would've spent some quality time in Jenkintown with the kids instead of farting around Wal-Mart for back-to-school crap.

Excellent Scott. As you know, Richie Cole was a West Coast guy in the 70' and 80's - he married my old friend Yolanda Nickell, from Chico, Ca, in the early 80's.

That's where I discovered Bruce Forman too. Bruce has been great for a long time ....

I'm totally stoked you got to play with Richie - he's great; so are you!

Good on ya, Dana O.

I got to play with Richie some in the seventies when I lived in Tucson, He liked Tucson and used to book into a club for a week as "Richie Cole's Jazzarama and have all the local cats play. He came and hung at my band's rehearsal space. Good cat and great player! Glad to hear he's still out there.

Cool gig Scott. I used to live 3 seconds from where those pics were taken. Had I known you were gonna be there I would have loved to watch, not to ention see that rack with all that cool processing in it. Probably the first time a 2290 has made a street appearance in Jenkintown.
