HP twin clean vs. BF clean

I had a Penn Super and while it sounded great ...the 35 watts weren`t clean enough for me at drummer volume
. I want a clean punchy amp with more soul (mids?) than a scooped BF ...but without the buzzy bass breakup and compression of a tweed super.
Is the HP twin it for me?
I like tweed BEFORE it compresses and goes rock.

A 40 w BF circuit is cleaner than a 40 W tweed circuit , obviously..

is an 80w tweed circuit as clean as a 40 w BF at maximum clean?
richer?louder?

I`m thinking about a HP twin with 1 x12 "(jensen neo 100?) ... anyone able to relate to this meandering post ????

Warm: Have you tried the lo power tweed twin? My '57 Reissue is definitely a big step up in volume and cleans from the 35 watt tweed gang (my favorite of which is the tweed pro.) I'm sure the high power TT would be even more so, but I find the lo power model is anything but low power. It definitely helps to have the right tubes in it ... mine has the 7581A like Sylvania STR387 power tubes, all 12ax7 preamp. It kicks.

I borrowed a buddy's Victoria HP Twin, and it was very loud and powerful, and had very good low end. The cleans though were different than BF Fender with Reverb cleans, if you want that tone, honestly go buy a Twin Reverb reissue or a SF Twin and convert it to BF spec.

I finally decided, for what I was after, that the Victoria HP Twin was not what I was looking for. I was looking for Bakersfield country tone, specifically one that would go nicely with my blackguard Tele clone, and my Gretsch 6120DSW. So i ended up with a used DRRI, and a Weber California speaker, and its suiting me REALLY NICELY! I thought about a Twin Reverb, but it was more than my back wanted to deal with.

The Tele never really got along that great with the HP Twin, and neither did my Gretsch, and it sounded really bad with my strat, and then my 335 produced a really strange overtone. So I ultimately passed on the amp. I used it for a couple gigs, and it sounded really great for one and really average for the other.
