New Guy: RichR from KC
Hi,
I just joined. I have lurked and read posts here for quite awhile. This site is a great resource for anyone doing anything with guitars and their trappings. I play in a gigging classic rock/blues band. Been playing for about 40 years, was about 10 when I started. You do the math. My #1 axe is a '72 LP Deluxe Goldtop (baby humbuckers) Also have a Mexi-strat with kinman pups (go figure, a $400 axe with $400 pups.), a 1964 ES-330 (cherry with nickel plated P90s); Acoustics: a 1942 Gibson J-45 (my Grandfather's), and a Breedlove Atlas. My main amp is an Egnater Rebel 20. Bought one of the first last October. Loving it. Seen a lot of really helpful posts regarding the Egnater here. Well enough about me. |

I don't usually post in welcome threads but I couldn't resist. I lived in KC for years. Since moving to the South I REALLY REALLY miss the bbq..
What band are you working with? and Welcome. |

Welcome Rich. Just returned from KC area (Belton) last night......stopped in Martin City for some BBQ at Jack Stack ummmmm good! Would liked to have gone to Knuckleheads for some live tunes, but ran out of time.

My band is JJ's BluesBand (myspace.com/jjbluesbandkc) More classic rock than blues, but were are stuck with the name for now. Older guys playing stuff we like: Allman Bros, Steeley Dan, Cream, Neil Young, some blues, enough country to get us out of trouble, etc. How far South did you move? |

My band has played Knucks a few times. Great place. Mostly national/touring acts, but the locals get in there, too. When you are back here again, they have a great open jam on Saturday afternoon from 1-8 (1-5 when they have a Saturday night show starting early.) Just bring your axe. You can bring other gear also, if you wish. |

Thanks for the welcome! A Southern Belle... cool. Female guitar player?
One jam I used to go to had a female bass player and drummer. Great players. It is a special kick to jam with the fairer sex. |
