First concert, your age and who did you get to see...
I'll go first, mine was Cinderella with Nelson(lol) as the opening act. George Lynch's band, Lynch Mob, was supposed to open the show...they cancelled. At the end of the show Cinderella played shelter and strippers came out and danced to it. I was 11 years old, and started learning to play guitar shortly thereafter. I don't think it scarred me too bad as I pay my taxes, go to work everyday, etc.
Let's hear yalls |

I was 13 and went with my cousin and my uncle...
Frank Zappa shut up and play your guitar tour at the Hollywood Sportatorium in South Florida. My uncle took us to see all the "wacked out kids on drugs and what could happen to you".... Needless to say...we liked what we saw and his plan backfired! ![]()

My first show was in 1986 - and I saw Bon Jovi at Madison Square Garden. I was 14 years old, my kid sister was 11, and our "cool" aunt brought us as a surprise.
..............BUT I'll be pretty proud when my sons, who are 4 and 8, get asked this question when they are older, and they can say "I was (4 or 8) and I saw Paul McCartney in Atlanta GA in 2009"

Fleetwood Mac (Tusk tour)-November 21, 1979, Philadelphia Spectrum, sat in Section T with my father. I was 12 and was mesmerized by the big arena production with flying light truss and FOH speaker array. Great show with Mick Fleetwood being the highlight-amazing drummer live. Stevie had her witchy, gothy outfits and the sound was crystal clear and very loud! Lindsay also was debuting the Turner Model 1 guitars on that tour.
Cool thread BTW!!! |

Age 16
1975 Jethro Tull Great show. Afterwards I told my buddy who I went with that I was disappointed that Ian Anderson didn't stand on one foot while playing the flute. My buddy replied that he was doing that half the time. I guess I don't need to tell you what we were smoking that night! |
