Gene.
From a business standpoint Gene was the driver. I think he's going to prove it at least one more time before he's done.

I fully expect Kiss to be the 1st multigenerational band. I figure within 3 more years, the characters will exist without any of the original members on the road.

oooh yeah I like this idea. Just imagine, it's the year 2974 and the known universe is brought together to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of the release of the first Kiss album.....planet Jendell finally exists as well as Paul's love-in planet, Gene's demon planet and Peter's catworld.....all alien races have joined with us becasue they can play Ace's solos easily and those that didn't??? Well, let's just say Unmasked was played in its entirety end to end for 1,000 days until they submitted......then they got to hear the good stuff for being good guys

Paul may have held the band together all these years,
Gene may have been the marketing genius,

Ace made em ROCK.

ahhh - not strictly true though!

most of the old demos were actually Wicked Lester songs - an album of stuff that wasnt released for a ziullion years or so......and WL were a different proposition to Kiss. It was as WL were fading into obscurity that Gene and Paul decided to create a really rocking band.

Ace turned up to audition with the 3 part Kiss and the song he auditioned was Deuce - an already very rocking song.

More accurate to say Ace made them rock a bit more

I never gave this any thought, but hell - given the right people for each role - this could very well be pulled off!!!

This or either KISS will someday be made into a Broadway musical of some sort.

YES! I mean .
The Jersey Boys continues to play celebrating the music and style of a certain era, We Will Rock You, likewise...The KISS 'phenomenon' as a blast to the past glorifying the 70's arena rock scene......OY! Coming soon???

BTW -

The new KISS album is pretty rockin', better than Psycho Circus, IMHO. Although the songs Psycho Circus and Dreamin' are some very awesome KISS tunes in their own right!

I think Molly Hatchet has already done this, though not as big as KISS will.

yup, any kid playing guitar for 6 months could cop one of Ace`s solos to a tee, I dont remember any axe slingin 16 yr olds wanting to be any of the other three members of Kiss. Ace was responsible for a LOT of album sales and Kiss merchandise, easily the most important member in my opinion.

Ace was my favorite

Paul has to be the most important member though - best frontman ever IMO.

Gene's picture on the Alive II album is the most lasting image of Kiss for me.

Proud member of the Kiss Army since 1978

Most important as far as what? Their success or sound? If its their success Id say Gene. Sound, I say Frehley. Paul was their heart and soul. Instrument talent would go the Peter.

For me, it's Paul. No question. He either wrote or co-wrote most of the stuff, and he had the voice.
