Question Fender HM strat owners

Any owners on here? What have you done to yours?
How hard is it to get replacement parts for the bridge? I Just picked up a latemodel Fender HM strat with the smaller fender/strat logo on the headstock, made in japan on the neck.
It didnt have the Kahler tremelo arm ..how hard is it to find the arm for this guitar?

So far a pretty cool guitar, previous owner put some model duncan in the bridge..the stock singles are in there still and they are lacking tone wise.

I think kahlerparts.com may still have the arm for the "Floyd-type" Kahlers. IIRC the HM Strat used the Spyder.

yep, the Spyder. I had a 2 humbucker one with this speckled black / blue stone factory finish and it had the 2 stock Dimarzio humbuckers in it and the Kahler Spyder. That thing rocked...

I've got one that I bought from a friend who need cash more than gear. HSS with EMGs and a Spyder tremelo. The neck is too thin for my tastes, but the tremelo is unreal. I can bury it until the strings go slack over and and over and it stays in tune.

I had one in red splatterpaint. It had been refinished, then stripped back to the original finish. Dimarzios in it, HS-2/HS-2 and ?? in the bridge. USA neck plate. Great player, sounded good with lots of gain.

I love the necks on these guitars. Aren't they only 25" scale?

You can find all of the repalcement parts for the Kahler Spyder bridge at the Kahler USA website: http://www.kahlerusa.com

I bought some locking nut screws to replace the worn locking nut screws on my '87 Fender Japan Strat w/ Kahler Spyder tremolo bridge. If you don't like the middle & neck single coils, check out the Dimarzio Cruiser pickups. The original bridge pickup is supposed to be a Dimarzio Super 2 pickup.

Bought mine new in '87 or '88. It's got alot of miles on it...my main player for over ten years. Love the finish on the neck. I put Fender Lonestar Specials in the neck and middle position and a Dimarzio PAF in the bridge. Didn't like the headstock so sanded it down and oiled it. Looks much better now. It's still a ripping guitar!

Here is my 1989 HM Strat that I bought used later that same year as my first "real" guitar. It was refinished in pink and yellow when I got it. So totally 80's.

I stripped it and refinished it au naturale in 1997. It's my beater and still keeps rocking. Glad to see there are other HM owers still out there.
