Morgan AC20 - Oh my God!!!

I just received my AC20 head along with the 1x12 matching cab loaded with a WGS black and blue alnico speaker. All I can say is God! this is the sound I've been looking for.

It is absolutely the most sweetest 3-d sounding beautifully crafted amp. Super props to Joe Morgan.

I had a brief test run with my 68' Strat, and it just blooms right out of the box. Though I haven't had a chance to put it through all the paces with my pedals and various guitars, it just seems like the most well-balanced tone anyone could ask for. 2 knobs, volume and cut. What a nice taper they have. A bright switch gets the chimes coming through a tad more, while the dark channel is smoking, with all the girth one could ask for.

It already has that classic vintage AC30 broken-in feel to it, and I've hardily played it yet. The speaker is to die for. All the Celestion blue fans out there, I would seriously recommend you give the WGS a try. Its cheaper, built 100% in the US, and it nails the Celestion tones at a cheaper price.

THe build quality and components are the finest, and dare I say, I don't believe I'll ever have any issues with the amp what so ever....its built just that good.

20 watts which is plenty loud, and just 5 easy to access tubes make this amp a no brainer. If you're looking for vintage AC30 sounds, but at a superior build quality, with easy access to tube swaps, and a multitude of fat sounds with just the right amount of top end (thats never shrill). This is it.

Its also very light, both the head and cab. Joe was a class act all the way through, and I whole-heartedly recommend you see what he has to offer.

THis is a keeper, without a doubt. Thanks for making the sounds in my head finally come true Joe. AC20, the amp an AC15 wish it could be, and the way the newer Vox AC30's should be.......

More in depth reviews to come. Any questions, please shoot them my way.

Cheers!

I don't have any of my own, but there are some on youtube. Just type in Moragan AC 20, he has about a dozen of them, but they're very U2-like, with some crazy delays and effects going on. But the over-all harmonics of the amp come through, though he uses the WGS Vintage 30 speaker, which sounds really nice, but I think I prefer the WGS Blue speaker. More vintage sounding.

I just wish he played some straight up no effects chords so you can judge for your self the natural huge 3-d sounding tones one can achieve. Smooth bottom, huge yet subtle midrange overtones, and a spot on top end, thats never to shrill, but warm and round.

I will try to post some basic clips, but I've never done it before. Something I'll work on....

Congratulations!

I've got an AC20 combo with a Black and Blue on the way. Great to hear that you like it so much.
