I have the Overtone HRM100, not the 50w but it's a very nice sounding amp. The amp can get some very high gain sounds and has some very nice cleans. Not Blackface/Silverface Fender good, but almost. Much better than most amps though. It's actually almost like a 4 channel amp. You have a straight up clean channel, clean + mid boost, the overdrive channel, and overdrive + mid boost. You can really cover a lot of ground with that. You may need a Dumbleator type device which is a tube buffered effects loop to efficiently run effects through the Ceriatone's loop. Fuchs offers one called the Verbrator at a very reasonable price AND it has built in reverb too (a must for Dumble type amps IMO). If this is your first build then good luck because a Dumble type amp is one of the hardest to build. An old Fender, Marshall, or Trainwreck amp is a lot more simple under the hood. Nik only charges a couple hundred dollars to build it at his shop...Good luck w/ your HRM because I love mine!

Thanks for the info - sounds like just what I" looking for - It will be my 3rd build - VibroChamp, then 18-watt TMB - then this. Looking at the layout, It's not going to be built in a couple of hours LOL.

There are a lot of clips on youtube as well as other d-styles to get a sence of what they sound like. For build advice I would recommend checking out ampgarage.com . There is a ceriatone forum as well. Good Luck.

I have the Ceriatone Overtone Special 50W. Love the amp! It is amazing. Like said in the earlier post, it truly has 4 channels. I had Nik build mine and he was excellent to work with. He responded to emails faster than lightening! I had Nik add a knob in the back to adjust the overdrive of the amp even finer and I love it. I use the amp for everything. Go for it, you wont regret it!!!
