Art-Rock/ Art-Punk band name ideas

Hello everybody!

I recently started an Art-Punk/ Experimental band. I am having trouble coming up with band name ideas..I am into bands like Television, Wire, Sonic Youth, The Velvet Underground and Syd Barrett.

What do some of you recommend? opinions needed!

"Art Punk"

"Hindrid"

Band names are stupid for the most part. Try not to overthink it too much.

As a guy who loves all of the bands you mentioned, I'm just going to go ahead and tell you that this topic was a bad idea and if you end up getting your band name from an Internet forum you'll probably look back and feel vaguely embarrassed.

Just come up with something and ideally try not to be so self-indulgent as to sit around thinking "what sounds really cool?" for six hours. It's about the music, not names or cool factor or the overly romanticized creative process and act of being a musician. Not to whip out a soap box or anything but I think a lot of people pay too much attention to the superficial aspects of making music, and on our end that starts with getting into it for the "wrong" reasons, if you could even call them that, and trying to come up with some wistful, nostalgic, romantic band name that'll get hipsters all over thinking of you as some distant, soulful artist. This is so self-conscious and shallow a way to approach things that from the very start it kind of puts you out of touch with what made bands like Television and Wire great to begin with.

Just pick a name. Any name at all! Your username, even (this is where the guy got Hindrid, by the way). If the Butthole Surfers didn't have any problems, neither will you.
