Question about re-installing original tuners in a Les Paul..

I recently purchased an R8 that had Grovers installed by the previous owner. The tuner holes had to be slightly enlarged in the process. I like the classic look of the original Kluson style tuners and might want to reinstall them. However, due to the new size of the tuner holes, the bushings that drop in the top side of the hole no longer fit snugly. With the strings installed, the bushings will obviously stay put but, without them, they slide out.

Would you think this would cause any issues or should it be OK to reinstall them? The tuners will obviously be secured to the back of the headstock with screws.

You need a set of

Oversize tuner bushings. You can get them at several places. I use stewmac.com. Easy fix for ya.

Most vendors call them Conversion bushings:
