NGD + NAD (Tele and vintage Vox content)

Got a few things recently that I've been too busy to post, plus it's been rainy so I had a hard time getting pics taken.

First up is a Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster. I've wanted a telecaster for the longest time, and finally got this as my 17th birthday present. I bought it to use the neck, hardware. and pickups for my art project, a 60s style psychedelic guitar. I bought a body from Rondo and am painting it so I don't have to ruin a perfectly good telecaster. This way, I can return it to stock anytime I want.
So far, I'm having a hard time tearing it down because it's just so much fun to play. It is actually pretty versatile, as I'm using it for anything from blues to hard rock/80s metal. I have a feeling it's going to fit pretty well in my band




My other big acquisition came about by accident. My dad called me and said my uncle had been at an auction and saw some amps for sale. He said that one was Synsonics, and one was Vox. He's not a guitar player but he remembered me saying that tube amps generally sound better last time I visited, and when he saw that one was tube, he purchased them both plus a mystery bass body for the sum of $6. I did a little research that Synsonics were recent practice amps made by Mattel, so I concluded that the Vox was tube.
When it showed up, I discovered that I was right. It was a Vox Student, an obscure early Thomas Organ made practice amp of about 5 watts. It was in rough shape, but to my surprise, when I powered it up, it worked and actually sounded pretty great. Pretty soon, it's going to my amp tech for a full rebuild and restoration, but for now I'm happy playing through it.





Finally, I finally took a picture of my Highway 1 strat with its new black pickguard, even though I swapped it out a few months ago. Here's now, and stock



And since I don't think I've ever posted these here, here's my most recent guitar and amp family pics. The only thing in them I no longer own is my
Charvel Model 1 (black superstrat), which was stolen.

"For the longest time?" What is that, five or six years? No offense intended, just found it to be funny. For the record, I'm only 25, not some crabby old guy ready with a "when I was your age" story.
