Mullard 7025

Bought it for $17.38 on ebay just now. Never heard a real Mullard before... at least not that I know of.

code was B9F4 and tested very good according to seller.

Good deal?

Absolutely a good deal-as long as it tested good and isnt noisy or microphonic. Bob

Was I crazy? I began to wonder, for such an appalling lack of perspective seemed near being just that.

From what I have been able to gather... the scores mean it tested at 112% and 95% on the triodes. The seller has an excellent reputation. I'm pretty revved up to get this thing in my amp.

I'd be curious to know what the code above the "B9F4" reads. Is it "I63"? Or something else?

As Bob says, that is a good price for genuine Mullard, as long as it is working as expected. Congratulations.

It doesn't have anything else next to it.

That's what it looks like. The code would be above the visible code line. Might see it (if it exists) if you reflect light off the tube at just the right angle.

"I63" was their designation for the standard 12AX7A of that time (June 1969, for yours). I was wondering if they had a different code/designation for a 7025, or if it would be the same. Just curious.
